| (From the book's dedication...)
Vermont nurses, whether born
in Vermont, or drawn to Vermont...have amply demonstrated their devotion
to upholding the basic principles which Vermonters treasure. This
history depicts Vermont nurses answering the call of duty to serve the
United States during times of military conflict, from World War II to
the Gulf War. It tells the stories, often in their own words, of Vermont
nurses who were drawn to the practice of nursing by their desire to care
for the individual in humane and sensitive ways. |
