Applying for VSNA
Approval for
Contact Hours
Dear Applicant:
Here on our
website you will find the guidelines for applying for approval to award
contact hours from the Vermont State Nurses' Association, Inc.'s
Committee on Education (VSNA COE). Please note that all applications
must follow current criteria required by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center's Commission on Education. These criteria
become effective January 1, 2007.
There are two
types of applications, Educational Activity and Provider of
Continuing Education in Nursing:
-
Approval for
an educational activity is for a two-year period during which
the activity may be repeated an unlimited number of times. All the
forms you need for this application can be downloaded here on our
website.
-
Approval as
a provider is recognition of a provider’s capacity to award
contact hours for continuing education activities which are planned,
implemented, and evaluated by the provider. The provider may offer
an unlimited number of educational activities during the three-year
period of approval. (See
eligibility criteria for providers.) If you are interested
in becoming a provider, application materials may be obtained by
calling or e-mailing the VSNA office.
Three (3) copies
of the application and all attachments are needed for the review as one
copy is retained in the office and the other copies go to the
reviewers. Payment should be sent with the application and is not
refundable once the review process has begun. RETROACTIVE
CREDIT CANNOT BE AWARDED. Fees are based on the
type of application and number of contact hours expected plus any late
fees:
